About Maria

Maria Ramos was born and raised in New York City. Since the age of 8 her mother enrolled her in The East Harlem School of Ballet where Maria found her true love for Dance and never stopped thereafter. Maria has performed all around the world with artists such as P-Diddy, Kanye West and performed locally with Ciara, Shakira, and Romeo Santos and just recently danced backup for Rihanna at the 2018 Grammys. She has done Industrial and Commercial work for: Nike, Stride Gum and played a cartoon character in the video game Grand Theft Auto San Andreas and has been seen on "Saturday Night Live" dancing on set for Justin Bieber.
For the past 10 years Maria has dedicated herself to dancing Mambo, Salsa On2 and Bachata Dance. She trained and performed with various dance companies. Since then she's been traveling, performing and teaching all around the world across 4 continents. It was her true passion to infuse latin dance and hip-hop that sparked the idea to blend the two art forms to create D'COR Dance Company.

Womanity is an open-level ladies team that infuses all forms of feminine movement. It is for anyone looking to improve their ladies styling and strength as an individual dancer - grow as a social dancer and perform with edge. In June 2014, Maria Ramos founded D'COR Dance Company to realize her artistic vision of blending Latin, Hip Hop and Contemporary dance. D’COR, "The Core", boldly expresses the emotional rawness of human relationships through explosive movement. Maria's choreography incorporates dynamic partnering, dramatic storytelling, and gravity-defying lifts to make impactful statements.


Group classes with Maria Ramos are always fun, social and engaging. Class styles include bachata, hip hop, heels, and many more. Maria can help dancers of all levels learn while enjoying themselves.
